Financial aid
Many of our students have received financial aid and fiscal advantages:
Your Fiscal Advantages
At the Federal government level, your studies at the AMCC gives you the
right to deduct your fees on your income tax return to reduce your tax
payments.
At the Provincial level, you can also deduct your study fees on your income
tax report.
In both cases, you will have to demonstrate when needed, that you are
registered in professional training to enhance your personal knowledge in a
professional context. The College emits receipts for taxes once per year in
the month of February of each year.
Student Grants and Loans from the
Ministry of Education
In Quebec, student grants and loans are restricted to Universities and
Cegeps. The New Brunswick government has recognized the training at the AMCC and now allows its residents to benefit from loans and bursaries.
AMCC Merit Grants
Our College automatically gives its students grants based on
merit (for each course successfully completed). This amount is applied to
the costs of the following level or course when a level or course is
completed. The Merit Grant rate is about 10% of the tuition fee.
If you are an accident victim
and are receiving compensation from the “Commission des accidents du
travail (CSST)” or another institution, you may be eligible for a grant to
further your studies.
Your agent will be able to tell you if you are eligible to have your
complete program fees paid for a Professional Reorientation Training
Program. You will have to build your own file and submit it to your
institution and insist sometimes to have your request accepted. In these
cases, all related study fees are paid directly to the College. In general,
the studies have to be full time.
Training Paid By Your Employer
We have an accreditation number from "Emploi-Québec" recognizing
us as a Professional Training Facility enabling your employer to use their
professional training dues (1% of the total salary mass) for your studies.
Other
If you are on Unemployment Security or Social Security
compensations, your Employment Centre can give you information about certain
advantages (longer compensation period, re-integration help, etc.) depending
on your specific case. This is possible because our College is registered
with Human Resources Development of Canada as a Professional Training
Institution. Your provincial government administers the availability to
these programs locally. You will have to study full time. (Minimum 30h /
week).
