Financial Support and Grants
Several students at the Alternative Medicine College of Canada have obtained financial support and tax benefits.
Tax Benefits
In both cases, you may have to prove that the fees are meant to improve on your professional knowledge. The College sends out tax receipts in February of each year.
Grants and Loans from the Ministère de l'éducation du Québec
In Quebec, loans and grants are meant for colleges and universities. Students from certain provinces, like New Brunswick, can benefit from loans and grants.
Grants and Loans from the Province of New BrunswickFinancial support is granted to students by the government of New Brunswick. Its objective is to help residents of the province to acquire training and education as quickly as possible. To be eligible for financial support, and to receive it, you must comply with the conditions of the Student Financial Services, Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour of New Brunswick. For more details, consult the New Brunswick government's site: Also see AMCC on the list of Quebec's Recognized Institutions by Jurisdiction/Country, under "College des Medecines Douces":
The establishments listed in the Directory of Educational Establishments are recognized under the Canadian Student Grants and Loans Program. If you wish to confirm your eligibility for financial support, please communicate with the student's financial support office of your region or territory. Work-Related InjuryIf you suffered a work-related injury and receive compensation from the Commission des accidents du travail (CSST) or any other retraining government agency, your agent might be able to grant you paid training as part of a professional retraining agreement. You will have to build a case, submit it and perhaps even insist enough to get acceptance. In this case, tuition will be paid directly to the College. Training must be full-time. Employer Paid TrainingThe College is recognized by Emploi-Québec. Our Department Registration Number allows your employer to use staff training contributions (1% of payroll) towards your education at the College.
OthersIf you are registered with Employment Insurance or Social Wellfare Canada, your local employment center can provide you with additional benefits (employment insurance extension, help with reintegration, etc.) depending on your case. This is possible because the College is certified as a professional training institution and registered with Human Resources Development Canada. However, you must study full-time (minimum of 30 hours/week). |
